Senior Loan Officer

About Us

Join a trusted, community-focused bank that has proudly served customers since 1901. Here, decisions are made locally, relationships matter, and leadership is accessible. As Senior Loan Officer, you’ll step into a meaningful leadership role within a family-oriented culture where your experience and judgment truly make a difference.

In this role, you will serve as the Bank’s lead credit authority, managing your own loan portfolio while providing oversight and guidance to up to five loan officers. As Chairman of the Loan Committee, you will offer strategic direction and present recommendations at monthly Board of Directors meetings. You will also oversee loan policy compliance and ensure timely quarterly reviews of watch list borrowers.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned lending professional who values relationship banking, sound credit stewardship, and community impact — and who is ready to help guide the Bank’s continued strength and success for years to come.

What You’ll Do

  • Originate, process, and service agricultural loans, with occasional involvement in commercial lending.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by proactively engaging prospects and existing clients to grow the loan portfolio.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of loan documentation and monitor repayment performance.
  • Structure financing solutions based on sound credit analysis and present recommendations to appropriate levels of lending authority.
  • Identify customer needs and provide tailored banking solutions that support long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to the Bank’s profitability through thoughtful loan pricing and cross-selling of additional products and services.
  • Support internal and external audits and examinations as needed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to banking regulations, compliance standards, and internal policies.
  • Participate in community and business organizations to strengthen referral networks and support local economic growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Bank’s mission.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of lending experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements, legal documents, credit reports and contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to present, sell, and service bank products effectively.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize projects.
  • Knowledge of Moody’s Analytics/Web Equity or similar software preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Farm background preferred but not required.

  • Income Protection – Employer-paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage for added peace of mind.
